The CEO, John Cockayne, has been a Professional Golfer since 1977 and is a fully qualified founder member of the PGA of South Africa. 
A former Head Professional of Royal Oak, State Mines and Benoni Country Clubs and Director of Golf at Southbroom, during which period he was involved in the organisation of golf tours, numerous professional and amateur tournaments and as a consultant Sunshine Circuit.

John has a broad based and eclectic experience including:
  • Various key management and consultancy roles in the development of the marketing, management, sales and membership sales strategies for nine golf estate developments. These include Muscat Hills Golf Club in Oman, Pecanwood (Jack Nicklaus’ first signature course in Africa) and Eagle Canyon which have become two of South Africa’s most successful residential golf estates.
 
  • The design and management of event, marketing and project solutions for a large number of South African and International companies including Avis Lease, Delta Motor Corporation, South African Airways, South African Broadcasting Corporation, Nandos, BMC, Vodacom Cellular, Sun International and Sanlam.
 
  • The design of event and marketing solutions and their subsequent management for venues and companies in Oman (Muscat Hills – 2011 to 2012), the United Kingdom (FMCG group and magazine publisher), Spain (hotel group), Democratic Republic of the Congo (property development group 2008 to 2009), Mauritius (hotel group – golf academy programme 2009) Taiwan (travel agency and travel products 1992 to 1995), Cameroon (Africa Business Round Table - 1992), Kenya (PGA -2008), Malawi (SAA - 1997) and India (Indian Silk Council - 1994).
 
The company offers a comprehensive management service, which is enhanced by close associations with a wide range of specialist service providers, including a communications group, travel group, specialist tour operators, a conference and functions’ company, website design company, marketing and PR company and several advertising agencies.

This structure enables the company to build the right team for each project and thereby offer its clients a complete service, which is specialised, creative, professional and cost effective

  • Successful golf and event projects for Adcorp Holdings, RCP Media, Nandos, Vodacom, Sun International, South African Airways, SABC, Adcorp Key Accounts, Times Media Ltd, CIC and Sun Microsystems. 
 
  • Record reader and viewer response levels on TV and at a number of influential business and daily newspapers in South Africa including 6 million SMS entries for the South Africa Broadcasting Corporation’s 3BEE competition in 2004 and 2005.
 
  • The Sunday Times – Nedbank Million Dollar Promotion 1996 to 1999 which generated 22 000 written competition entries in 1999.
 
  • Record entries for Business Day and eTV during the US Masters Promotions in 2000 and 2001.
 
  • Returns in excess of 10 times spend on both national and regional marketing campaigns for the international whisky brand Ballantines during the brand’s Nedbank Challenge promotion in 1999.
 
  • The largest single charity donation (pro rata) in South Africa’s history - ZAR 3 million for Project Rhino and the Avis Lease Black Rhino Golf Challenge in 1989.
